🎧 Navigating the Balance of Work and Positive Impact
Chatting about intersectional feminism, rest and remuneration.
Hello!
I know, it’s not a Sunday, but just popping into your inbox with a quick one today.
It’s a year since the release of a podcast I recorded for
with Ellie, of . I realised the date when doing some tidying up on Substack recently, and re-listened for the first time in many months while cooking dinner. It was a lovely reminder of how wise and impassioned Ellie is, but also of how important rest is as someone trying to balance paid and unpaid work - whatever that may be, but especially when the unpaid element is such that it tries to make the world a better place.
Not an easy feat.
In case you missed it last year, or fancy a re-listen on account of needing a reminder about rest too, or are even just keen to learn more about intersectional feminism and the aid/development sector, I thought I’d re-share as a surprise, off-schedule post this week.
As much as I cringe listening back to my Welsh accent in all it’s recorded glory, I really enjoyed this conversation, and hope you do too.
Happy listening x
Ooh, one more thing…
Earlier this year I wrote something on making connections via Substack, which has perhaps never felt more true than during this past week. As there’s quite a few new subscribers here (hello! welcome! thank you!) I thought I’d re-share, as this might resonate with you too. ✨
If you liked this piece and would like to show some support without a paid subscription, a Ko-fi coffee is always appreciated. ☕
